Industrial residues such as fly ash and fluff have long been seen as useless by-products. Through Project VAST, JUR Consulting and its partners are changing that perspective. In Moerdijk, a pilot smelter installation is being developed that transforms these waste streams into circular basalt, a durable and environmentally friendly alternative to natural stone.

The project not only reduces waste and CO₂ emissions but also contributes to a more sustainable infrastructure across Europe. Supported by the Just Transition Fund (JTF), Project VAST showcases how innovation can drive both economic growth and environmental responsibility.
